Wolf attacks near Crans Montana
Wednesday August 4, 2010 - Email this article to a friend

The animals have been attacking cows near the Swiss ski resort. The authorities have given permission for them to be shot but animal rights campaigners are complaining.

Wolves have been making a bit of a comeback in The Alps in recent years.

More sightings and more killings have been reported.

We have already reported on the re-emergence of the alpine wolf on PlanetSKI and the desire of Swiss farmers to have them hunted.

See here for some background information and where they might be found.

In the latest incidents in the Valais canton two cows have been killed and others injured.

Authorities have given permission for some of the wolves to be killed but animal rights groups have said that farmers should protect their animals better and the wolves are just doing what comes naturally.
