First Tracks
Monday November 10, 2008 - Email this article to a friend

Hit the slopes of Méribel before the crowds this winter.

The French resort is opening up one of its lifts at 8am every Thursday during March so people can leave the first tracks down La Face.  The slope was used in competition in the Albertville winter Olympics in 1992.

Skiers and snowboarders can go up with the ski patrol before the lifts open to the general public and experience the joy of skiing on a deserted slope.

A limited number of people, who have signed up in advance, will be able to have a Savoyard snack at the top before being allowed to make the first tracks back down to the village. A maximium of 30 people can do it and it costs €18 (£14.46).
