Ed Drake carries Olympic torch
Tuesday July 17, 2012 - Email this article to a friend

The British ski racer has carried the torch on Wednesday in Hastings, East Susex. It went from Hastings to Dover and PanetSKI was in the crowd.

London 2012 is just over a week away and the torch is on the final stages of its journey as it heads towards the capital.

We reported on its start and had a ringside seat as it was brought down the steps of the aircraft for David Beckham and the Princess Royal to witness the start of the torch relay.

See here for that story.

A number of skiers and snowboarders are involved including Chemmy Alcott, Zoe Gillings, Katie Summerhayes, Ellie Koyander and Talan Skeels-Piggins.

We have reported on some of them as they carried the flame.

So who had the honour on the Isle of Man?

On Wednesday it was the turn of the Olympic GB ski racer, Ed Drake.

I ordered SUN," he posted on Facebook earlier this week.

And he had the honour and we have received these photos.

Well done Ed!

Ed Drake will also be telling us what it was like and sending in some further pictures.

Once he is off the beach.
