Merci, Danke, Grazie and thank you

PlanetSKI has now been going a couple of months and we’ve had many more people looking at the site than we expected. We're a bit staggered really!

On the first day alone we had hundreds of visitors and now page impressions are well over 100,000 with thousands of unique visitors.

“It’s a really well laid out and designed site. Congratulations.”

“I love the videos about all the snow it looks wonderful and I can’t wait till my holiday in January. I just hope it lasts”.

“The guides are brilliant and I like Ask PlanetSKI too”.

"More videos of the snow please for us poor people stuck at work."

“After reading your blog on Argentina I want to go.  Can you tell me if any British tour operators go there?”

The news is good. Up-to-date, independent, interesting and a great breadth of stories. Keep it up”.

“How did you manage to shoot and edit the film about the snow conditions and another one about the Leona Lewis concert in Ischgl and get both up on the site by the end of the day?”

“Can I have a job with you guys?”

These are just some of the comments we have received.

We’ve had a few problems though too; the videos were slow to load to begin with, we’ve had teething problems with the snow reports that are still not working properly and of course our content editor, James Cove, has dreadful spelling and keeps making typos so we have to correct half the stuff he files (sorry, James but it’s true!).

We couldn’t have predicted the fabulous snow we’ve had across the Alps and the Pyrenees that has given us so much to write, film and enthuse about.

It’s been the best start to a winter for decades and our team of writers and photographers has been delighted to report on it all (and enjoy it themselves of course).

We were also the first ski web site with news of Chemmy Alcott breaking her ankle, the opening of Peak2Peak in Whistler and the gondola accident in the resort a few days later.  We also obtained exclusive video pictures of Leona Lewis snowboarding for the first time which not surprisingly has been the most viewed story.

So, from James, the 2 Tim's, the 2 Alex's, Kisia, Jo, Julian, Liz, Sarah and of course Tobie and Jamie without whom none of this would be possible, many thanks.

A big thank you too for all those people dotted round the resorts that have been sending us pictures and information.

Keep looking at the site for all the other things that we hope to roll out over the winter and do spread the word about if you like it.

For the spirit of the mountains
