Thursday March 17, 2016 - Email this article to a friend

The international snowsports business event is passed on to its founder/manager by Reed Exhibitions. Next winter it is heading to Cortina in Italy.

For three years it has been run by Reed Exhibitions the people behind the World Travel Market.

It is a specialist trade event for the snowpsorts industry where suppliers and buyers do business in pre-scheduled and timed meetings.

It was always an initial 3-year plan from Reed Exhibitions and it has wound up this week on Soelden, Austria after the first year in Kitzbuhel followed by Davos in 2015.

PlanetSKI has been involved since the first year as our content editor, James Cove, has moderated the industry forums.

Now Reed have handed it on, under license, to its creator and manager, Luke Bolton.

"This is a very exciting project for me and I now have total control of the event and will be able to grow it and take it in a new direction," said Boulton to PlanetSKI.

"I am looking to grow the base of suppliers and attract more purchasers and we have a number of new and exciting initiatives in the pipeline for Cortina that we will be developing over the coming months," Boulton added.

This year saw delegates from 23 countries and 65 ski travel suppliers.

"Reed Exhibitions will continue to own the brand but now it is over to Luke and he will be in charge of every aspect of it," said the Exhibition Manager, Peter Grimster.
