Tops of mountains blasted away

It's not much to do with skiing but it does involve mountains. The BBC's David Shukman is a very keen skier with Zermatt as one of his favorite resorts and his son is doing a winter season and has already asked for some advice from us here at planetSKI.

BBC environment correspondent, David Shukman, travelled to West Virginia, America, to see the highly controversial practice of blasting the tops off mountains for coal.

So far, more than 400 mountain peaks have been destroyed this way with half of America's power coming from coal.
