The Winter festival Snowboxx has upped its capacity and announced the lineup for its 2017 edition, with Basement Jaxx to headline.

Taking place from 18th-25th March, 2017 in Avoriaz, France, the festival puts on DJs and music acts around a day on the slopes.

Snowboxx is now in its fifth year and has adapted over the half-decade - including changing resorts, increasing the numbers and expanding its programme.

Next winter it looks like being the biggest and the best with 5,000 party people expected.

Set in the Portes du Soleil area, there are 650km of pistes to ski by day, as well as igloo parties, bottomless brunches and extreme snowball fights to entertain festival goers.

This year Snowboxx has doubled its capacity due to previous years' sell-outs, making it now the biggest festival on snow in Europe.

Headliners include Basement Jaxx, Wilkinson and Hannah Wants.

And if you need a little reminder...

Supporting acts confirmed so far are High Contrast, TQD (Royal T, DJ Q, Flava D) and Bicep, as well as Snowboxx residents Charlie Tee and Jack Swift.

"Snowboxx is making a big come-back in 2017, packing a bigger punch than we've ever seen before," said co-founder of Mainstage Travel that runs the event, Rob Tominey.

There are five days of music, last year with the likes of Mike Skinner, Stormzy and Sigma.

"Falling outside of the usual festival season, we aim to offer music-lovers and party-goers a winter experience, as well as giving them the opportunity to enjoy ski packages and luxurious ski chalets," Rob said, summing up the week-long event.

PlanetSKI was onto Snowboxx last year, which you can read more about here.

Tickets for Snowboxx start at £229pp, including accommodation and a festival wristband, and flight packages start at £369pp.

Rob spoke at an event earlier this summer to mark beginning of the run up the season. Here's what he said about Snowboxx in the festival industry and its history.
