Now in its 4th year it kicked off on Monday as people are encouraged to try snowsports. UPDATED

It is run by Snowsport England and aims to get new blood into skiing and snowboarding.

The event, which is sponsored by Visit Andorra, gives people a taste of snowsports - particularly those who have never tried skiing and snowboarding before.

There are events and sessions across the indoor and outdoor slopes in England from October 2nd to 31st.

There are more than 70 sessions on offer.   Some are free, others are heavily discounted.

Here is a PlanetSKI report from last year looking at what went on. Check it out if you want to see what it is all about.

30 Days of Snowsport events compromise taster sessions, open days, races and competitions.

These sessions are fun, family-friendly and open to all ages, with many of them suitable for beginners and those looking to take up a new sport.

For people who already ski or snowboard, there will be a chance to get the ski legs back or have a go at something different - freestyle, ski racing, rollerskiing or another discipline.

30 Days of Snowsport is sponsored by Visit Andorra.

The Principality is a popular destination for skiers: both beginners and experts.

Our editor, James Cove, visited last season with Neilson and he is planning to be back again next January.

The initiative is just the start of a series of Snowsport England initiatives aimed at getting more people into skiing and snowboarding and ensuring the Winter Olympics is an opportunity not to be missed for snowsports in the UK.

Snowsport England is announcing plans of a Winter Olympics initiative later this month, as well as confirming the continuation of National Schools Snowsport Week in 2018.
