CLUB MED CLAIMS SUCCESS
Thursday October 19, 2017 - Email this article to a friend

The French company reports winter sales up more than 30% as interest grows in all-inclusive ski holidays.

And when Club Med says all-inclusive it means all-inclusive.

Ski lessons, childcare, all meals and an all-day free bar are all in the price.

Then there are activities for the kids and entertainment for the adults after skiing.

Many people barely leave the property (except for skiing) as there is so much to do.

It has expanded its ski offerings in recent years as people seem to like the format and that there will be no hidden extras.

"We canvassed clients before taking our boys (5 and 7 at the time) on their first ski trip. The overwhelming advice was to ski Club Med. I never considered inclusive holidays before but, after an amazing Easter week high up in La Plagne, the boys were hooked," says Richard Sinclair, who claims the "most booked" all-inclusive ski holidays on SNO.co.uk are Club Med.

French destinations continue to prove most popular among British skiers for winter holidaymakers.

Val d'Isere  is the most popular destination for bookings - increased by 62% compared to last year -  closely followed by  a 47% increase in bookings for Avoriaz, 41% increase for Tignes and 40% for Cervinia in Italy.

March 2018 is the most popular month for winter holidays with bookings up 52%.

December bookings have increased by 31%.

"Our customers see the value in all-inclusive ski holidays with everything included and paid for upfront. This also protects customers against ever-fluctuating exchange rates and hidden costs with the simple security of a low deposi," said the Managing Director, Club Med UK and Scandinavia, Estelle Giraudeau.

This November Club Med opens a new property in Grand Massif Samoens Morillion in France.

This year it also opens one in Tomamu in Japan.

"The Club Med experience may not be to everyone's taste with its organised fun and regimented style, but for those that do like the experience it is hard to beat it," said the PlanetSKI editor, James Cove.

He last stayed with Club Med at Valmorel, France, in 2015.

UPDATE: And here is what one PlanetSKI reader, Duncan Rory Holburn,  has said over on Facebook:

"Club Med is great. Not expensive at all - lift pass included, 6 full days of instruction included (off piste guide with transceivers in top group- brilliant introduction ) all booze included, three meals a day and great international company and friends.

"Rooms small and tight, food French - but they can also cook if you ask them to. Great locations and ski in ski out.

"Entertainment hysterical - so bad its really funny and after a few beers worthy of every award going. If you make full use of the bar and the Yoga class you will have a lifetime of memories, and the Gendarmes are not that bad really!

"If you want expensive for crap then Mark Warner's your choice. Club Med puts your cash where it matters, great fun, great friends, great skiing, with small rooms and entertainment to embarrass Hi di Hi! "
