DISCONNECTING TO RECONNECT

In the spring of 2017, Eddie Bauer Snowboard Guide Scott Newsome took teammates Chris Coulter, Lexi duPont and KC Deane into the deep backcountry of Revelstoke, British Columbia.

The team was dropped off by helicopter and made camp at the base of a wall that no one had ever ridden before.

No iPads, no cellphones--completely off the grid and into the deep pow.

FRIDAY 15TH DECEMBER

A VIDEO OF DAVE RYDING BY HIS AUSTRIAN FANS

The Austrians love Dave Ryding as much as we do.

Obergurgl-Hochgurgl is supporting GB's hottest slalom skier, Dave Ryding, by providing him with a professional training environment as he prepares for the 2018 winter Olympics.

And the Ötztal destination is one of the most sought after ski areas by British skiers.

So it's a win-win situation, we love to ski in Austria and Austria supports our 'Rocket Ryding'.

Thank you Austria for supporting Dave Ryding.

WEDNESDAY 13TH DECEMBER

Lovely edit.

TUESDAY 12TH DECEMBER

2.5 MILLION

"2.5 Million" follows American skier Aaron Rice as he sets out to ski 2.5 million human-powered vertical feet in the backcountry and set a new world record.

To be successful Aaron will have to ski over 330 days in the calendar year and chase snow around the world.

The challenge is both physical and mental, and injuries are simply not an option.

Aaron skis some interesting locations including Utah, Bariloche in Argentina, Pucon in Chile, Shasta in California, Bachelor in Oregon and Revelstoke BC.

MONDAY 11TH DECEMBER

NOCTA PROJECT #1

It's the first episode of a series of night explorations with Bruno Compagnet & Layla Kerley.

This episode takes place in Chamonix, on the one of the most famous lines - the Vallée Blanche.

It was shot in 3 hours, at an altitude of 3000m with temperatures as low as -20°C.

TUESDAY 5TH DECEMBER

PROMISED LAND: JAY PEAK - TOO DEEP

Is there such a thing as too deep?

The record-breaking storm Stella of 2017 brought incredible amounts of snow to the forests of Jay Peak, VT.

The Ski The East crew ventured out into chest deep snow during a memorable and exhausting day of blind turns, choking snow and sometimes simply being stuck.

Too Deep features Tim McClellan, Dylan Dipentima and Brooks Curra enjoying the best day ever.

MONDAY 4TH DECEMBER

KILIAN JORNET - THE RIDGE

Climber, mountaineer and adventurer, Kilian Jornet is at it again.

Watch him climb along the top of the snowy ridge with his ski boots, skis and poles strapped to his back but sadly we don't see him skiing down.

It looks precarious in places.

He climbs to the peak of the East Ridge at Kyrkjetaket, in Romsdalen, Norway.

The drone footage show some great views of Norway.

The climb took place in February 2017.

FRIDAY 1ST DECEMBER

THE LUGE IN INDIA - NOT WHAT YOU WOULD EXPECT

This is the story of India's only competitive luger, Shiva Keshavan.

His sponsorship is sparse, he builds his own sleds in his garage, but he is dedicated to the sport he loves.

Athletes in Europe take to specially designed runs, Shiva's training track is down icy roads, passing pedestrians going the other way!

His handmade board has one similarity to all luges, it doesn't have any brakes, so, he said "It can get a little tricky sometimes".

He needs at least 5 points to qualify for the #Pyeongchang2018 Olympics.

To score more than 1 point he needs to be within the top 70.

A brave man, we hope Shiva gets the points he needs - we'll be supporting him in South Korea.

TED LIGETY TRAINING IN ZINAL

Watch Ted Ligety training on the ski slopes in Zinal, Switzerland.

Ted uses a GoPro camera attached to his torso.

As he races down he's flanked by ski-tech, Alex Martin, who does an outstanding job of keeping up as he frames up the shot with the GoPro Karma Grip Stabilizer.

Ted Ligety is part of the US ski team and one of the fastest alpine skiers.

Keep an eye on the little speed dial on the left as Ted skis fast, reaching the dizzy speed of 50mph as he careers down the mountain.

Well done Alex for keeping up!
