Mikaela Shiffrin

Chairlift-Chat: In our series of conversations on chairlifts we hear from the 16-year old US skiing sensation Mikaela Shiffrin. She is the youngest US skier to have stood on a World Cup Podium for 30 years.

Already people are likening her to Lindsey Vonn and we caught up with her in Obergurgl, Austria, when we spent a couple of days with the US Team in January 2012.

Brandon Strong

Chairlift Chat: In our series of chats with people on chairlifts we hear from the man that maintains the private training superpipe of Shaun White in Northstar, California.

Not many people that have their own private superpipe.  But Shaun White does.  PlanetSKI caught up with the man that looks after it, Brandon Strong, on a recent visit to Northstar.

Brandon seemed somewhat reluctant to tell us about how much water is used to create the superpipe for Shaun White.  We made a few enquiries in the resort and had a word with the vice-president of Resort Operations. It is 14 million gallons.

Jean-Luc Brassard

Jean-Luc Brassard  - The Canadian gold medal mogul skier competed in four Olympic Games and now works in the resort of Le Massif on the east coast. In our series of chats with people we meet as we criss-cross the mountains find out a bit more about the mogul legend.

He was one of the best mogul skiers of his generation. He won the gold medal in Lillehammer in Norway. He is still a magnificent skier.
